Där verkligheten slutar/ Where reality ends
My intention was to do a video that reflects on the composite of memory, “where’ does memory start and “where” does reality end? In a continuous flow of images can what we consider our memoirs; our apprehension of heard or sight be mixed up with events we have been told of, or with images in film and private photo albums. Memory is a state as well as a construction.‘Där verkligheten slutar/Where reality ends’ is as origin a 20 minute long video piece where I try to show the gap in the recognizable/ unrecognizable borderhood with small delays in time, image and sound. I wanted to show this fleeting and simply delayed state. I tried to capture the ambiguous essence of memory. This screening event shows a shorter version where my video appears as a fragmentary story about something being lost and how the memory irritates the dealing with it. Experiences transfers and linger, make imprints on you. Not always easy to wash away. My artistic works are based on my own writings, where I write to make things clear for me.
