Astrid Johannessen
Astrid Johannessen is educated at the Academy of Visual Arts, Oslo 1993-73 and the Russian Institute of Cinematography 1998. She has participated in several exhibitions and video screenings and festivals both in Norway and abroad: Art Forum, Berlin, Galleri K, Astrup Fearnley, Galleri F15, Corea, Rushia and Venice. She works with music as a platform for her videos. She visualizes images brought from her own experience. She travels to other countries and rebuilds these images connected to time, culture and atmosphere. She plays the main characters herself. Johannessen works with themes such as love, death and faith. She finds religion, music, and mythology where the tradition is kept.
